Dr. Warsito P. Taruno

ECCT Inventor
Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Warsito P. Taruno owned over 20 patents and has more than 150 articles published in international journals and conferences around the world. With a Doctorate of Philosophy in Electronic Science and Technology from Shizuoka University, Japan in 1997, he has a series of accomplishments and accolades that speak to his expertise.

He was named the youngest plenary lecturer in 1999 at the International Symposium in Gas-Liquid and Gas-Liquid-Solid in Delft when he invented the multimodal ultrasound tomography. Following, he was invited to join Ohio State University as a Research Associate from 1999 to 2006. He jointly invented the 4D imaging technology, Electrical Capacitance Volume Tomography (ECVT) with Prof. L.S. Fan in 2004 (patented 2006), which was used by NASA to develop imaging techniques in spacecrafts during a space mission by National Energy Technology Laboratory, US Department of Energy. The mission involved the development of next-generation power plant for verification of supercomputer simulation. He joined a research consortium with major world oil and gas industries in 2012 to assist in the development of clean energy technology and has worked with major industry leaders, including ExxonMobile, Shell, BP Oils, Conoco Phillips and Air Products.

During this time, he returned to Indonesia in 2007 to continue his research and invented the Electro-Capacitive Cancer Therapy (ECCT) for cancer treatment. This revolutionary technology is based on a low level of electric energy which he used to treat his sister who was diagnosed with final stage breast cancer invasive ductal carcinoma. Twelve years later, his sister is living a normal life with cancer in remission.

During the last 10 years, ECCT has successfully assisted over a thousand cancer patients, of which more than 90% of patients are in the final stages of cancer. He has helped these patients achieve a 5-year survival period, and some even longer. As a result, he received numerous prestigious awards for the invention, including the first person to win the “Achmad Bakrie Award” for technology category in 2009, the “Industrial Pioneering Technology Award” from the Ministry of Industry in 2010, the “Intellectual Property Award” from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in 2014, the “BJ Habibie Technology Award” in 2015, among many other prestigious awards.
